Sri Lanka is a small and beautiful island in the Indian ocean.It is called the "pearl of the Indian ocean" because it is very special and lovely.Our country has golden beaches,green mountains,rivers and



forests.Many tourists visit Sri Lanka to see its natural beauty.

Sri Lanka has a long history.There are many old temples,stupas and historical places like Anuradhapura,Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya.These places show our proud past and the great kings who lived long ago.




The people of Sri Lanka are very kind and friendly.They respect each other and like to help others.We speak different languages like Sinhala and Tamil.We also follow different religions like Buddhism,Hinduism,Islam and Christianity. But we all live together in peace and harmony.

Sri Lanka is also famous for tea,rice and spices.Many people around the world love our ceylon tea.Rice is our main food.We also grow spices like cinnamon and pepper .I love my country very much and I feel proud to be a Sri Lankan.
