The Sinhala and Tamil New Year is a special celebration in Sri Lanka.it happens in April ,and it's time for families to come together and have fun. Before the New Year,families clean their homes and get everything ready.They also make delicious food like milkrice and sweet treats.

On the New Year day, families wake up early and light a fire. This fire brings good luck for the year ahead. Then,everyone wears new clothes and eats a special meal together .



During the day,children play games like pillow fights and scramble for coins.It's so much fun.The Sinhala and Tamil new year is a time to be happy and thankful.It's when we celebrate our traditions and spend time with the people we love.
